NBC TELEVISION NETWORK NEWS March 2, i960 DAVE GARROWAY AND HIS * TODAY1 SERIES TO ORIGINATE WEEK OP SHOWS IN ROME Dave Garroway and the "Today" show will originate one week of programs from Rome, Italy, in early April it was announced today by Jerry A. Danzig, Vice President, Participating Programs, NBC Tele¬ vision Network. The five programs, which will be video taped in advance, will be presented on NBC-TV Monday through Friday, April 11 to 15 (7-9 a.m. EST) . Garroway, host of the program, and Jack Lescoulie will make the trip to Rome to tape the shows during the week of April 5 to 10. During their absence Florence Henderson, Frank Blair and a guest host will handle the show in New York Monday through Friday, April 4-8. "Today" producer Bob Bendick will produce the Rome origina¬ tions . Plans for the program content of the Rome shows include a comprehensive tour of the Italian capital on the first telecast (April 11). The tour will cover such famous areas as the Appian Way, the Capitoline Hill, Via Veneto, the Forum, the Colosseum and the Piazza del Popolo.
