JACK TRACY ROOM 320 2-X-H NBC TRADE NEWS April 27, I960 AMERICAN TOBACCO RENEWS ITS SPONSORSHIP OF 'TALES OF WELLS FARGO' ON THE NBC TELEVISION NETWORK FOR THE 1960-61 SEASON The American Tobacco Company has renewed its sponsorship of the high-rated Western adventure series, "Tales of Wells Fargo," on NBC-TV for the 1960-61 season, it was announced today by Don Durgin, Vice President, NBC Television Network Sales. American Tobacco, which also has purchased sponsorship in "Bachelor Father" and "Bonanza" on NBC-TV next season, has been in "Tales of Wells Fargo" since it began on NBC-TV in March, 1957. The purchase is for Pall Mall Cigarettes. The series, which stars Dale Robertson as Jim Hardie, Wells Fargo agent, tells of the period from 1852 until 1918 when the pioneers advanced across the American frontier and the role Wells Fargo played in that movement. It will continue to be telecast on Mondays, 8:30-9 p.m. (NYT).
