NBC TRADE NEWS April 27, I960 NBC TELEVISION NETWORK ACQUIRES EXCLUSIVE RE-BROADCAST RIGHTS TO 'THE DANNY THOMAS SHOW' AND WILL SCHEDULE EPISODES AS A MONDAYTHROUGHFRIDAY DAYTIME FEATURE The NBC Television Network has acquired exclusive re-broadcast rights to all episodes of the perennial top-ten favorite, "The Danny Thomas Show, " it was announced today by Mr. Thomas and David Levy, Vice President, NBC -TV Programs and Talent . Mr. Levy also announced that repeat telecasts of the award-winning family comedy will be presented as a Mondaythrough-Friday feature of NBC-TV's daytime schedule, starting on a date to be announced. NBC has re-run rights, Mr. Levy said, to each of the 218 episodes produced to date, plus 33 more which will be shot for 1960-61 viewing. In addition, he said, NBC would auto¬ matically pick up any other films which may be produced for the 1961-62 season. "The Danny Thomas Show" is currently in its seventh season. It has won four Emmy Awards and five weeks after it first went on the air was presented with a Sylvania Award as "Best TV Comedy Series." The series is a Marterto Enterprises Inc. production, with Louis F. Edelman as executive producer and Sheldon Leonard as producer-director.
