These i960 radio units can operate over a wider area in the convention arenas than their predecessors, pro¬ viding two-way conversations between floor reporters and the TV and radio control rooms, or between the floor reporters themselves. Gerald M. Sellar, Director of NBC Radio Network Operations, said the receivers have been improved to such an extent that not only can they be used by floor reporters to get information, but the same receivers will serve as a base receiving station in the engineering control room for direct on -the -air programming.
