James E. McGhee, Kodak Vice President of Domestic Sales and Advertising, said: "We are moving to Walt Disney’s new show because color television has now come of age. Color is important to photo¬ graphy and has been a significant factor in the growth of our industry. It is our belief color will be of even greater importance in years to come. Now we are delighted to join the master showman, Walt Disney, in making this entertainment available not only in black and white but in color for the growing numbers of families enjoying this new di¬ mension of home entertainment." In Hollywood, Walt Disney said he and his associates are "enthusiastic" about Kodak sponsorship of his new show. "Both Kodak and Disney Enterprises are interested in providing American families with wholesome entertainment, " he said. "We will work together toward this mutual goal in the new color television program. " A succession of highly popular animated cartoon features and live-action productions has come from the Disney studio. Mickey Mouse made his debut in 1928 and was the forerunner of a long list of famous cartoon characters, including Donald Duck, Pluto, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Dumbo, Bambi, Cinderella and many others.
