MELBOURNE FILM FESTIVAL HONORS * VINCENT VAN GOGH: A SELF-PORTRAIT* "Vincent Van Gogh: a Self-Portrait," the award-winning NBC-TV color documentary, has been awarded a Diploma of Merit by the Melbourne Film Festival of Australia. The announcement was made by CINE - Committee on Inter¬ national Non-Theatrical Events - which coordinates U. S. films in various foreign film festivals. The program, written and produced by Lou Hazam, was telecast Nov. 17* 1961. It retraced the life of Van Gogh in the artist *s own words and through his drawings and paintings, many of which were shown for the first time. The program previously won Emmy and George Foster Peabody awards. o PHIL GREEN TO SCORE SOUND TRACK FOR SERIES, "HARRY *S GIRLS" Phil Green, British composer-conductor, will score the sound track for the new situation comedy series "Harry *s Girls," now being filmed on the Riviera for showing next Fall on NBC-TV (Fridays, 9:30 p.m. EDT). Green has scored some of Britain* s top films in recent years including "Sapphire," "The League of Gentlemen" and "The Singer Not the Song." He has also composed a number of popular songs including the current European favorite, "Say Wonderful Things to Me." "Harry* s Girls" stars Larry Blyden and three American beauties: Diahn Williams, Dawn Nickerson and Susan Silo. o NBC -New York, 7/1/63
