"HARRY ' S GIRLS,” COMEDY SERIES FILMED IN EUROPE,
WILL HAVE PREMIERE SEPT. 13 ON NBC -TV
"Harry’s Girls,” a filmed -in -Europe, half-hour situation comedy series, will have its premiere on NBC -TV Friday, Sept. 13 (9:30-10 p.m. NYT), with star Larry Blyden and three American beauties: Susan Silo, Dawn Nickerson and Diahn Williams.
Harry Burns is an American hoofer with a pretty good vaudeville act* The only trouble with the act is that it is about thirty years out of date for American audiences. The snappy songs, dances and patter are still appreciated in Europe, however, as a bit of "Americana" and that is why "Harry’s Girls" as the act is called — is in Europe.
They play theatres and clubs in many European countries.
In the act with Harry are three girls: brunette Rusty (Susan Silo) blonde Lois (Dawn Nickerson) and redhead Terry (Diahn Williams).
Rusty is apt to be over-romantic and gullible. Lois is a bit of an innocent. She is wide-eyed in certain respeote and looks all over Europe for hot dogs. Terry is the most sophisticated and
experienced of the three. Harry keeps watch over the girls, who are very talented in finding trouble. Now and then Harry comes a cropper too, and the girls have to give him a helping hand.
The programs are shot on location in Europe with the Riviera as home base. Interiors are filmed mostly in Nice and exteriors onlocation on the Riviera, Rome, Paris and other locales.
