TRADE NEWS December 3* 1957 STEVE ALLEN EMCEES NBC-TV ‘TIMEX ALL-STAR JAZZ SHOW' DEC. 30 WITH ARMSTRONG, ELLINGTON, KRUPA, TEAGARDEN, AMONG OTHER ’ GREATS ‘ Steve Allen will be master of ceremonies for THE TIMEX ALL-STAR JAZZ SHOW, to be presented on NBC-TV, Monday, Dec . 30 from 10 to 11 p.m., EST. The full-hour special telecast, which will originate in New York, will have as its theme "Jazz is fun!" and will head' line Louis Armstrong and his All-Stars, Woody Herman and his Third Herd, the Gene Krupa Trio with Charlie Ventura, Jack Teagarden, Bobby Hackett, Cozy Cole, Carmen McRae, the Dave Brubeck Quartet with Paul Desmond, and - in a remote from the Blue Note in Chicago - Duke Ellington and his Orchestra. Larry White will produce "The Timex All-Star Jazz Show" which will be directed by Dwight Hemion and written by jazz expert George Simon.
