^ACK TRACY ROOM 320 N EWS 2 COPIES X-H December 9> 1957 NEW TUESDAY NIGHT 'TREASURE HUNT' TELECAST STARRING JAN MURRAY STARTS ON NBC -TV DEC. 24; FIVE-A-WEEK DAYTIME SERIES CONTINUES A nighttime edition of the high-rating daytime TREASURE HUNT, with potential winnings multiplied tenfold, will begin Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24 (NBC-TV, 7:30-8 p.m., EST) . Jan Murray will be host-emcee and will continue in the same capacity on the daytime "Treasure Hunt" (NBC-TV, Mondays through Fridays, 10:30-11 a.m., EST). The new evening program will have the time-spot formerly occupied by the "Nat King Cole Show." Contestants, chosen from the studio audience, will be quizzed in pairs by Murray. The winner draws a sealed bid from the bid-board. It is opened by Murray who announces the cash value of the bid. The contestant then must choose whether to accept this cash or take a chance on the contents of one of the treasure chests. There are 30 of them, one containing only a "joke" gift, one containing a sum of not less than $10,000, and the others facsimile merchandise of considerable, but unpredictable value. Home viewers may participate by sending in cards with their guesses as to which chest contains the cash treasure.
