NBC TELEVISION NEWS December 9, 1957 ROSEMARY HARRIS REPLACES PIPER LAURIE AS 'VIOLA* IN ' TWELFTH NIGHT' COLORCAST ON 'HALL OF FAME' Rosemary Harris, Shakespearean star of the Old Vic Company who has been rehearsing the role of Olivia, will play Viola instead in the HALLMARK HALL OF FAME colorcast of "Twelfth Night" Sunday, Dec» 15 (NBC-TV, 6:30-8 p.m., EST) . She replaces Piper Laurie, who withdrew from the role of Viola yesterday (Dec. 8), according to an announcement by Mrs. Mildred Freed Alberg, executive producer of "Hallmark Hall of Fame." "Vie are fortunate to have such a fine Shakespearean actress already in rehearsal, to step into the role, and to have another experienced Olivia available for that part," said Mrs. Alberg. Frances Hyland, who will portray Olivia, played that role last summer in Tyrone Guthrie's production of "Twelfth Night" in Stratford, Ont. Miss Harris has appeared with the celebrated Old Vic Company of London as Calpurnia in "Julius Caesar," Dorcas in "A Winter's Tale," Desdemona in "Othello" and Cressida in "Troilus and Cressida." She was acclaimed by New York critics in the latter role last season. (more) PRESS DEPARTMENT, NATIONAL BROADCASTING COMPANY, 30 ROCKEFELLER PLAZA, NEW YORK 20. NEW YORK
