Like the ‘Merry Widow,’’ its principal musical number is a delightful waltz, the theme of which runs through the whole operetta. The Victor now offers a pleasing record of this charming number. Estudiantina Waltz W aldteufel Everybody Works but Father Burlesque Rogers Forty-Five Minutes from Broadway Selection Giggler March and Two-Step Haines Glow-Worm Intermezzo Linke With vocal chorus and bell solo. This dainty little intermezzo, which is one of the instrumental successes of the season, is the Gluhwurmchen of Paul Linke, well known for his clever compositions. The melodious refrain is sung by Mr. Dudley and Mr. Macdonough. Happy Birds Waltz Bird warbling Holst Another of those melodious waltzes with soft bird warbling. Happy Days March From The Soul Kiss The Soul Kiss is the merry extravaganza selected by Manager Ziegfeld to introduce that famous dancer, Mlle. Genee. Prominent among the musical numbers is this spirited march, which is given with a whistling refrain. Harry Lauder Medley A lively medley of the best of Lauder’s numbers, concluding with the popular She Is My Daisy.’’ ‘ Hearts and Flowers Tobani Hermosillo Intermezzo Mexicana Schuh Hiawatha Characteristic Moret Hunt in the Black Forest Voelker A descriptive musical episode. A mysterious strain announces the break of day—the birds sing in the forest—Chanticleer’s voice is heard from the barnyard—huntsman’s horn in the distance sounds the assembly call—the village chimes are heard as the hunters assemble and mount—they start—in full gallop—the horns sound the halt—at the forest blacksmith shop—the smith at work—they start again—the hounds scent the game with excited baying—in full cry—the game is run to earth—again the huntsman’s horn sounds—cheers—finale. If You Alone Were Mine Two-Step Scotto This lively number, familiarly known as the “ La-la-la Two-Step,’’ has become extremely popular in the past few months.
