CAPITOL ~ WELLAND (conttd.)
all the merchants who participated in the Foto-Nite contest which
was wound up this week, Included on the page was a good three column pic of George, his assistant Mort Grant and the Foto Nite winner, plus an appropriate story. Geod work boys.
George has succeeded in making friends with ths guys on the paper, and that is certainly the first step in bespeaking their co-ceperation, I have a feeling that we're going to see some action from out Welland way, one of these days ... just in time for the contest. Keep plugging George ... we're with you 1002.
GAPITOL ST. KITTS For his date on GONE WITH THE WIND, Vern used two giant blow-uos to good advantage on his front display frames ... one week in advance, and during the run. Five local book stores tied in on their pocket book editions, and all Westerberg news trucks were well bannersd in advance of and during the run.
Jack Dawson featured the overture on C K T B, generously interspersed with good plugs for the pic. Book marks were handed out at the public library and all book stores.
Potter and Shaw's drug store looked move like a theatre front than a pharmacy ... being literally loaded with stills, paper and all available accessories. ‘The big front window was strictly G.W.T.W. and couldn't help but sell tickets. That's the kind of a window I like to see ... not one single still hidden behind a bottle of iodine.
REGENT OSHAWA
Al's I SAW deal got special treatment one day last week, when the Times-Gazette ran a good cut of one of the items ... I see a good three column ad placed by a local Mercury dealer, with a generous portion of the space devoted to Al's LONG LONG TRAILER ... The leading Local beauty salon ... CGollette's, came through with another of their excellent co-ops, this week featuring a cut of "Lucy" 2...
ABOUT MRS. LESLIE rated a good, three column scene on an off-theatre page. The local radio station used the star interview recording, for free. Good displays at both the Genosha Hotel and Metropolitan store lunch counter.
Another good off-theatre page scene ... this time on DEMETRIUS. A special recording on the same pic, supplied by Fex, was used over G.K.L.B's popular "Show Case" on three afternoons during the run ... making good use of the music from the track, and naturaily, plugging playdates and theatre.
Good displays in the hotel and department store on this attraction as well.
