BROADWAY TIMMINS
This week Bob played twe programs ... ROGUE COP and SARACEN BLADE. I see a good, two column story on the former, in the pages of the leeal daily.
"Footprint" signs were tacked to poles, traffie signs ete.on every street leading to the theatre ... and naturally, summonses were placed on the windshields of all parked cars in the downtown area.
Fer SARACEN BLADE, a walking book led all and sundry to the picturization of the title ... after the book had served as advance publicity in the window of a vacant stere. Looks like that's ali from Robert ...
TIVOLE = HAMILTON
ZI have a photo showing the Tivoli’s beoth at the loeal Hadassah bazaar ... What makes it unusual is that the space didn't cost Don anything, and was used for selling book tickets ... I also understand that as a result ef this, Junior Hadassah intend to push the sale of these books for him ?rem now through Christmas.
A 450 line ad, paid for by the Spec, and premoting their Piek-A-Present section, features huge heads ef Crosby and Kaye, with a good piug for WHITE CHRISTMAS at the Tivoli.
CAPITOL = SUDBURY
This week Jeff made a deal with Emil's Beauty Salen, whe used a seven foot cut-out of Audrey Hepburn in front of thoir entrance to heip him promote SABRINA ... the CES IDS was spotiighted after business hours.
Emil's alse went for an excellent Pour column co-op ad, featuring a press book cut of Miss Hepburn, and offering a guest ticket to each of the first twenty ladies going for a Hopbura hair-do ... Met too many takers, sez deff. Keep going after those eo-ops Jefe ... That's where the points lie.
CAPITOL ~ ST. KITTS
On ROGUE COP, Vern got special permission from the Chief ef Police to permit him to place small, neat cards under the windshield wipers of all cars parked in the downtown area ... He also made sure that the twe supermarkets were well covered. Naturally Vern used some good traffic scopy to tie in with his title.
The Morning Melody program still going six days a week, with lots of Hollywood chatter and theatre mention ... Musical scores from all his programs featured daily.
Small display at the entrance to the giant supermarket on the highway.
