YOU know, LZ you want to be completely honest about 1%, that YOU 0. have as much te do with selecting the winners, as the judges, whoever they may be. That's why I%m such a stickler for consistency. The hit-and-miss type of eperater may get away with it for a time ... but he's only fooling himself. He'll never see his name in bold type, heading the lists ... and he’s generally the first one to gripe about sonsone else knocking off all the honours. It’s the guy who's always doing something ... dreaming up ideas ... siuggimg away woek after week, coming up with a new or novel gag ... never satisfied, always searching ... always thinking ... always doing. He's the one whe must in time realize his ambitions, whatever they may be ... wherever they may lead. That's why I always sean our trade magazines ao carefully ... searching fer names of our BALLYHOO mombers im the lists of awards, citations, honours ... Those lists tell me who the "triers" are ... even though they may be nosed out at the last minute. ££ still maintain that if you try often enough, sooner or later you'll hit that old jackpot. And that, my friends, is something you've got to de for yourself ... I can't help yeu there. Keep trying ... keep slugging ... and keep sending examples of your work to ali the trade mags.
