For DRUM BEAT, Roy Rogers deputy badges were handed out to the first couple of hundred youngsters ... This was featured in the newspaper ads, and the young ‘uns really flocked in for the show and the badges. The six permanent 11 x 14 window displays still attracting attention on the main drag.
George invited the local Sea Cadets to be his guests for SAILOR OF THE KING ... They paraded up and down the aisles during intermission, band playing and flags flying ... and after the show a Tribune photog just happened to be around, and just happened to take a couple of shots of them in front of the theatre ... The following day an excellent four column pie with good story, in the so very tough Tribune. Not bad, huh?
Talk abeut scrounging ... George Jr. gets copies of the Belleville paper where George Sr. is manager of the Belle oe. He noticed a couple of weeks back that the Egyptian was playing his dad's theatre, and quick-fast commandeered all the material he could get Sr. to send owt to him. Made up some dandy window displays ... A vacant 2h4-sheet board was sniped well in advanes of the opening with six sheets and daters.
An excellent window display was set up in the Main Street window of Hatch's Furniture Company. ;
In return for a small display in his lobby, George got himself a pretty fair portion of a display ad im the Tribune, paid for by Modern Furniture and Radio Company. The subject oeo still THE EGYPTIAN.

A tieoup with the local House of Television netted Ted some excellent space in their throe quarter page mewspaper ad. Good art and copy ... ail pressbook stuff ... om THREE RING CIRCUS. Swell stuff Ted ... but these co-ops are too few and far between. Come on fellow ... concentrate, and let's get you up there in the winners! circle.

The News Quiz tied in with the noon-hour newscast over C K 0 € still in effect. For his date on PHFFFT, Don tied in with the local Arthur Murray studio, on a lobby contest, with winners being awarded prizes of dance lessons by the studio. In roturn the Arthur Murray people used star heads from the pic in their newspaper ads.
