The ear dealer also placed 2 very sporty racing car in the Tiveld Lobby, and same through with a most effective display in theie showrcoms. ALGOMA 2 S00 Norm's only contribution is evidence of a nice window display in Moore's Musics store on HIT THE DECK. The Algoma cenfection bar was very tastefully decorated over the holiday week. VICTORY TIMMINS Have a nics scrap book here from Jack Bridges, with some good stuff en his STAR IS BORN date. Fourteen local merchants combined in a contest to pick the Local high sehool girl te be their "Star for & day ..." Hach carried a geod window display, and each purchaser in any of the stores was entitled to so many vetes. Swell stuff. Jack rushed around and sold enough ads fer a deuble truek spread im the daily ... mot only sold the space, but had to write the ads ... amd did 4 swell job. Result, a terrific page, with, you may be gure, plenty of mention of his attraction. : The "Star for a Day" was crowned on Jack's stage and presented with her gifts. The ceremony was taped by C F S L, and played ever several of their programs on the follewing day. Of course Jacek did the interviewing, ee you guess what happened, One of the prizes wae a dinner for the winner and ker family at the Empire Hotel ... the press photog, snapped a picture of this for Jack, and with a little arm twisting Jack ses he was able to haye it rum in the paper ... but I don't see a tear sheet dn support ef this claim ooo Send 4% along Jack. Theee good window displays in stores on the Main strect oo. Eight mounted one sheets placed in strategic locations around town. & good display was placed om the bulletin boards of all 1ecal High Schools outlining the contest deal ... with, naturally, plenty of nention of the attraction. The Riverdale Pavilion plugged the music from the pic, with several STAR spot dances tossed in. € Kk G B featured the full sound track recording en Sunday evening, with plenty of credits. Both Local radio stations came through with dozens ef free plugs in advance of and during the run. Great stuff Jack ..% but why have you neglected us so long?
