iv. The Optical Magic Lantern Journal and Photographic Enlarger. EASTMAN’S am. NEW TRANSPARENT FILM Is in every respect a great improvement upon that of past years. It is rapid, is evenly coated, does not tear or frill, and retains its sensitiveness as well as glass plates. One of the best known experts of the day has lately returned from the tropics with exposures made under varying conditions upon Transparent Film and Plates. Upon development he found that, although exposed to great heat and moisture, Eastman’s Transparent Film developed with great brilliancy and clearness, giving negatives of excellent printing quality, acting as well as any of the plates and better than some. It is well known that contact with air is a most fertile source of damage to sensitive plates or films under trying circumstances, and the very fact of Eastman’s Transparent Films being rolled tightly round a spool in contact with each other is a . valuable safeguard against this atmospheric action. The EastmMAN Company were the PIONEERS OF FILM PHOTOGRAPHY: they, consequently, have had the advantage of many years’ experience, and, as a result of their extensive experiments, are able to manufacture the finest quality of Film.
