We use Optical Character Recognition (OCR) during our scanning and processing workflow to make the content of each page searchable. You can view the automatically generated text below as well as copy and paste individual pieces of text to quote in your own work.

Text recognition is never 100% accurate. Many parts of the scanned page may not be reflected in the OCR text output, including: images, page layout, certain fonts or handwriting.

Lobby Display: The title, “Jack and Jill,” conveys so much to children and grownups who remember the original story that an old oaken bucket by a country well side, with proper lobby display, might do much to call attention to the production, if to this well and bucket you could add life-size cutout figures of Jack and Jill carrying water up hill. This might give added interest. Window Display: Your Department and other stores might be willing to feature special window displays of Jack and Jill, either in their little house which they eventually occupy in the photoplay, or along side of a country well, climbing the hillside with buckets of water. The theme is rather unusual for window display, and might lend itself excellently to the sale of kitchen or household utensils, which could be featured in part of the log cabin at the rear of the display. Street Advertising: If you could mount an enlarged reproduction of one of these window displays on a float with actual people taking the place of Jack and Jill at the well, or climbing a hillside, you will accentuate the plan laid out for the window display and couple up the interests in the float in the minds of those who have seen your lobby and window display advertising. Why not offer a prize for the best window display and then have same reproduced on your float with credit to the store that has made it up. Newspaper Advertising: Offer to print a cut in the newspaper of the best window display that is gotten up by the town window dressers, thus arousing, not only the interest of your patrons, but of the storekeepers, in vieing with each other to see who can do the subject of “Jack and Jill” the most justice. Car Cards: Feature the best window display in your town in your car cards, reproducing same with photograph of Jack Pickford and Louise Huff superimposed on the picture of the window display, with a line reading something like this: Simabeckiord anda Louise Hutt are the.artists featured in i... 2...) ws. the prize window display, to be seen in ......... store all this week.
