I had about ten minutes to return the film, under the deadline. I looked in the window seat that opens into a bed when you press the right button. The reel of film I’d counted on to prove my innocence was gone. I had an uneasy feeling that it had left the trailer under Wanda’s fur coat. THE next morning, J.
