J was just about to put the folder of Doris Day photos back in the steel drawer — just a routine part of my job as secretary to the editor of Photoplay — when I realized there was somebody standing on the other side of the filing cabinets. I got up on tip-toes and peeked over the top — and there he was. Fabian! At first, all I really saw were two eyes looking back at me. There were more than eyes, of course — the bridge of a nose, eyebrows, forehead and hair (lots of hair, dark wavy hair) — but all this I only became aware of later.
