PHOTOLIFE OF J[zalkfl Scott there was a little girl who set her heart on becoming a great actress. Her mother disapproved, but what mother can withstand a pretty daughter who goes around for weeks repeating: “It’s drama school, or nothing!” So, Lizabeth Scott came to New York to study at the Alviene School of Drama and, believe it or not, turned down all the adoring young men who wanted to take her to dinner at 21, late suppers at the Persian Room, or dancing on a starlit roof. She had work to do. She had a dream that had to be forged into reality. And — like the tale of Cinderella — this ends on a happy note. Judging by the acclaim of Mr. and Mrs. Moviegoer, Lizabeth Scott’s dream has become a reality. BY LYNN PERKINS ■B
