MYRTLE STEDMAN MYRTLE STEDMAN, CYRIL MAUDE IN "PEER GYNT" (MOROSCO) CYRIL MAUDE 1915 Oliver Morosco, California theatrical producer, entered the motion picture business, and, associating himself with Bosworth, they both released their films through Paramount. Among Morosco's output were Cyril Maude in the title role of Ibsen's "Peer Gynt," Charlotte Greenwood making her film debut in "Jane," and Lenore Ulric (spelled Ulrich at this time) in her first starring picture, "Kilmeny." Bosworth brought Fritzi Scheff, Blanche Ring and Elsie Janis to the screen for their initial appearances in "Pretty Mrs. Smith," "The Yankee Girl," and "The Caprices of Kitty" respectively. Miss Janis also filmed "Betty In Search' of A Thrill" and "Nearly A Lady," while Dustin Farnum made "Captain Courtesy." Thomas H. Ince presented George Beban in "The Alien" independently. Mrs. Leslie Carter made two independent films of her stage successes, "Du Barry" and "The Heart of Maryland," and Jane Cowl made her screen debut in "The Garden of Lies."
