To his enterprises he added U U a new concern, Realart Pictures Corp. He also combined with William Randolph Hearst, newspaper tycoon, who had organized Cosmopolitan Productions to produce Marion Davies pictures. Realart signed Mary Miles Minter and Alice Brady and elevated Constance Binney and later Bebe Daniels to stardom. The Triangle Film Co. and Mutual Film Corp. ceased to exist, and so did the old Thanhouser Company which had been releasing through Pathe. The Selznick name was saved from obscurity when Lewis J. Selznick's son Myron formed a company, Selznick Pictures. He signed Olive Thomas, Eugene O'Brien, Elaine Hammerstein and Owen Moore, but he was under age and his mother had to sign all the contracts he made. LON CHANEY, JOSEPH DOWLING Above: J. M.
