Along with Charles "Buddy" Rogers and Richard Arlen she made a big hit in "Wings," an aviation war film directed by William A. Wellman. It was one of the outstanding films of a year that included "The King of Kings," "Sunrise" and "Seventh Heaven." Greta Garbo was teamed with John Gilbert and they caused a sensation in "Flesh and The Devil," while Janet Gaynor and Charles Farrell also started a profitable professional alliance in "Seventh Heaven." Norma Talmadge, with Gilbert Roland as her leading man, filmed "The Dove" and a modern version of "Camille." Ed Wynn filmed "Rubber Heels" for Paramount while George Jessel made "Sailor Izzy Murphy" for Warner Brothers, but neither of these stage comics scored the success of Eddie Cantor the year before in "Kid Boots."
