Others new to the screen included Claudette Colbert and Ruth Chatterton, from the stage, and child actor Mickey Rooney, then being billed as Mickey McGuire. In "Power," a silent film starring William Royd, the cast lists Joan Rennett, a blonde, and Carole Lombard, another blonde. Of the producers, Irving Thalberg, who had started his career as Carl Laemlle's office boy, was well on his way to a brilliant career at M-G-M. Greta Garbo, Emil Jannings, Clara Row, Harold Lloyd and John Gilbert were now the biggest drawing cards.
