48 Pichure s and Pichjre puer MAY 1924 Constance Talmadge is a good-natured, jolly individual, and a good sport, but she's a decidedly dangerous maid with the foils. he youngest of the Talmadge sisters donned boy's attire in her first costume picture. A dress rapier went with the clothes, and so, of course, she had to learn to use it. With her fencing-master, Constance spent many a morning much as these pictures show her. They kept the buttons on the foils, which was just as well, otherwise, when she really " gets down to it," as in the bottom left illustration, there might be bloodshed. But the " scrap " always ended in an exchange of smiles and a handclasp in orthodox fashion.
