97 Where Billy's B OSS William Haines is that wherever he is, for no one can resist him, but these pictures of his new home show where he is undisputed sovereign. Dressed at last, below, Billy seats himself on a sofa upholstered in maroon satindamask to await guests. William Haines, above, in dressing gown and pajamas, pauses beside a little antique table which he greatly enjoys, because it came from his old home in Virginia. Still in negligee, below, he takes his ease on a day bed with the morning paper. Needless to say it's Sunday morning. He is especially gratified with the living room, above, because most of the furnishings he collected himself, and he insisted on arranging them all. "Though I'm no interior decorator," says Billy, "I know what I like!" Then as if apologizing for that conventional remark, he points to the fine, old French commode beautifully painted. Billy, below, lingers beside the handsomely carved mantelpiece, which he likes so well that he says he built the house to fit it.
