Ruth Warrick is one of the stars who won fame in “ Citizen Kane," as Mrs. Kane No. 1. She was born in St. Joseph, Mo., and received sound dramatic training in amateur theatricals and a stock company. Elected Miss Kansas City, she went to New York, liked the look of it and stayed there to do radio work—at one time she was appearing in twenty-five shows in a five-day week. During this time she married Erik Rolf, a radio actor and producer. Orson Welles saw her at a party—and that’s how she went to Hollywood. She'has since been in “ Obliging Young Lady," “ The Corsican Brothers,” She is five feet six inches tall, red-haired and blue-eyed, and plays the piano and violin. Tom Conway was bom Thomas Charles Sanders in St. Petersburg, Russia, and came to England at an early age. With his brother George Sanders, he went to school in England and graduated from Brighton College at the age of nineteen. Seeking adventure and travel, he went to South Africa, becoming rancher, miner, taxi-driver, miner again (first asbestos and then copper). Malaria drove him back to England, where he worked for an engineering firm until 1933, when he took to the stage. He appeared in stock companies until 1939 when he made his first screen test. Then he left for Hollywood, using the name of Conway to avoid trading on his brother’s reputation. He was signed to an M.-G.-M. contract in 1940. He is six feet one inch in height, with dark brown hair and eyes. Hobbies are swimming and sailing. Films include “ Lady Be Good,” “ Tarzan’s Secret Treasure." “ China Caravan.” Martha O'Driscoll is the young Irish lass we’ve seen in a leading role in “ Pacific Blackout.” Bom in Tulsa, Okla- homa, she has been in every branch of amateur and professional entertainment since she acted as a child fashion model at the age of four. She was only thirteen when she persuaded her mother to take her to Hollywood, and has been there ever since. She is five feet four and a half inches tall, with hazel eyes and fair hair. Ray McDonald is the long-legged young imp with the cheery grin whom we first saw in “ Down in San Diego ” and “ Life Begins for Andy Hardy,” and who made his first big hit in “ Babes on Broad- way ” dancing with Judy Garland. Bom in Boston, Ray and his sister Grace, at, the ages of fourteen and sixteen, were doing a song and dance act at one of New York’s big night clubs. William Tracy came to the screen in his stage role of “ Brother Rat," when the play was filmed. Bom in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he showed his first interest in dramatics while at school and appeared in amateur productions of light operas.
