ADVENTURE Urrol Flynn’s life story reads ■*“* like the dream of all small boys. It has jbeen packed full of adventure. Many boys say that they want to be a policeman when they grow up—Errol was a Territorial Constable in New Guinea. Other boys read sea stories and want to be the captain of a vessel—Errol bought a schooner and carried freight and passengers among the islands of the South Pacific. There are other adventures which appeal to boys, prospecting for gold as an example — Errol did this too, and actually struck gold, although he lost the fortune he made, when he tried high finance. His life on the screen, too, is full of adventure. He sprang into fame when he played in “ Captain Blood,” and other films in which he has found adventure have included “ The Adventures of Robin Hood,” “ The Dawn Patrol,” “ Dodge City,” “Virginia City,” “The Sea Hawk,” “ Sante Fe Trail," “ Dive Bomber ” and “ They Died With Their Boots On.” ANDY HARDY’S GIRL FRIEND GROWS UP y^NN Rutherford will always be as well known by the name of Polly Benedict as she is by her own name, but she feels that she is growing out of the “ Andy’s Girl Friend classification. Declaring that she is really grown up, and pointing out the fact that she was bom in 1920, she says that she was delighted when she played the role of a married woman in * Badlands of Dakota.” Ann was born in Toronto, Canada, but she was only four months old when her parents moved to San Francisco. She made her stage debut as a child, and she also had a short radio career before coming to the screen. She is brown-haired, brown-eyed, and five feet three inches in height. 107
