Randolph Scott is another actor who turned to Westerns after beginning his career'in ordinary films in 1931. Audie Murphy, who was during the war America’s most decorated soldier, took up films on being discharged from the Army, since when he has made several successes. Leif Erickson, who alsb appears in The Cimarron Kid with him, was in the U.S. Navy during the war John Payne, a millionaire's son, and Willard Parker, a vice-consul's son, starred with Lyle Bettger, a star base- bailer's son, in Vanquished.
