The Atomic City marked the screen debut of another artiste besides Lydia Clarke. In it GENE BARRY also made his film bow. Bom in Manhattan on June 14th, he took part in school theatricals to the delight of his parents who had both longed to be entertainers them- selves. Work with little theatre groups eventually led him to the Broadway stage where he had played a number of notable performances before coming to the screen. He was also one of the busiest television actors in New York. He is one and a half inches over six feet in height and has dark brown hair and hazel eyes. Ruggedly good- looking, Gene Barry is con- sidered to be a new type of screen hero. Following the completion of his first film, Paramount immediately de- cided to star him in Pleasure Island and War of the Worlds. Sonja Ziemann Gene Barry
