British Actor—John Gielgud in Julius Caesar ; Best Foreign Actor—Marlon Brando in Julius Caesar ; (Julius Caesar also won an American Academy Award for the Best Art Direction in Black and White) ; Best Foreign Actress— Leslie Caron in Lili ; Most Promising Newcomer —Norman Wisdom in Trouble in Store ; Best Film from Any Source —The Secret Game (France). Audrey Hepburn also won an " Oscar ” in the American Academy of Motion Picture Aits and Sciences as the actress giving the best performance of the year in Roman Holiday. The “ Oscar ” for the best actor went to William Holden in Stalag iy, and for the best supporting actor and actress to Frank Sinatra and Donna Reed in From Here to Eternity.
