J OCK MAHONEY used to be one of the best stunt men in the film business, which is not surprising considering his previous prowess in many kinds of sport. At high school he Weis a football, basketball and trapeze star, which contrasted strangely with his singing leading parts in several school productions of Gilbert and Sullivan operettas. It was after the war that Jock took drama lessons and began his career as a stunt man. After five years of doubling he became restless and television work led to his starring in a television series as the Range Rider, which led to film roles. T> AVEN-HAIRED beauty ANNE BANCROFT admits that she intended somehow to take up a theatrical career as far back as her school days when she was very active in school and local amateur dramatics. After leaving high school she applied and was accepted in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She had been studying there for two years when she auditioned for a television producer who was so impressed that he immediately gave her a leading role. Other parts followed until she was appearing on practically every top American television show. Her out- standing looks and talent soon attracted the attention of Hollywood and she made her film debut in 1952 in Don't Bother to Knock. Recent film appearances have been Nightfall and The Girl in Black Stockings. CHIRLEY MacLAINE ^ is a red-haired, un- usual beauty who started on her way to stardom when she took the role in a Broadway play in place of the leading lady who had hurt her ankle. In the audience that night was Hal Wallis, who immediately signed her to a film contract. Her films are The Trouble Wit Harry, A rlists and Models and Around the World in 80 Days. I
