Bernard Fox Maureen Davis ■ We first saw BERNARD FOX in Soho Incident and this was followed by Home and Away and The Counterfeit Plan. MAUREEN DAVIS was only eleven years old when she played on the London stage in " I Remember Mama.” She also played in one or two films. Schooldays over she went into repertory and then came her first real break, in the film To Paris With Love, after which she appeared in The Long Arm. Blonde Maureen was born in Golders Green, London. ELVI HALE, who made her screen debut in True As a Turtle, was a secretary for two years before becoming an actress. She appeared in repertory and made a big success on the London stage in " My Three Angels.” Spotted by Sir Laurence Olivier, she is under contract to his company. She has appeared on television. Without any previous acting experience JOHN GAVIN was given a long-term contract by Universal-International. Born on April 8th, 1931, in Los Angeles, he became a Naval Air Intelligence officer. On leave and in civilian clothes, he was spotted in Beverly Hills by an agent who offered to get him a film test—which John treated as a joke. After receiving his honourable discharge in 1955 he called on an old friend of the family who happened to be a film producer and merely in passing he mentioned the leave incident. The producer admitted he had never thought of John as an actor but realised it was a good idea, so that was how the young man came to the screen. Behind the High Wall was his first film, followed by Four Girls in Town and Quantez. Black-haired and brown-eyed, he is 6 feet 4 inches tall. PATRICIA SMITH came to the screen by way of television. Her first film roles were in the James Stewart film The Spirit of St. Louis and as Don Murray’s wife in The Bachelor Party. She was born on February 20th, 1932, in New Haven, Connecticut, and is a blue-eyed blonde. Her original intention was to become a concert pianist but she became keen on acting while at college. She was on the stage before going into television. ROBERT H. HAR- RIS was a well-known Broadway actor and had appeared in many tele- vision shows when he made his film debut as the head floorwalker in Bundle of Joy, star- ring Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds.
