J Fig. 5 CLOSE-UP. The same scene as in Figs. 2, 3 and 4. This close-up concentrates on the expression in the central character's eyes. This type of close-up is more desirable than the kind which features the eyes alone because of the fact that three heads were seen in the medium shot and two in the close shot. To have followed them with a close-up of the eyes alone would have been confusing because the audience would not be certain which character's eyes were being featured. A close-up of the eyes alone, however, could have followed a close-shot of the single head of Fig. 4.
