Andy Smith (Lon McCallister) __ enlists in the Army to win the hand of his sweetheart {Sunny Vickers).
Shipped to Korea, he becomes a
hero by saving the lives of Sgt. Kirby (William “Bill” Phillips) and his pals, Milo (Brett King), Sollie (Lar—
ry Stewart) and other men of his outfit. Shortly afterward, Andy leaves his sentry post to help a
sick buddy. The enemy infiltrates through his position and wreaks
havec. About to be shipped state
side, Andy volunteers for a suicidal
mission, driving a stalled locomotive through enemy lines. He is wounded, while Sgt. Kirby is killed. Back in the U. $., Andy reads a
moving letter from Kirby to the
