Signs on their backs might carry playdate credits. @ Plant “Reserved for Lilith’ A-cards on restaurant tables and, at same time, try to arrange chef-created “Lilith Salad” or similar dish to be promoted on menus and in newspaper advertising. @ Plant newspaper, radio or TV contest offering guest tickets for the tongest list of film titles which, like “Lilith,” consist solely of women’s names, and of the female stars of the films listed. @ Page “Lilith” in hotel lobbies, restaurants, terminals, shopping centers, etc. @ Write “I Love Lilith’ in chalk or crayon on walls, old billboards and other surfaces already in use as youngsters’ “romance” bulletin boards. @ Anyone in town named Lilith? Scenes from the film — Still Nos. 105 and 110 — show a phrase from that language painted on the wall over her bed: “Hiara Pirlu Resh Kavawn.” An interesting contest might be worked with newspaper, radio or TV_ sponsorship, with contestants asked to devise a meaningful sentence out of the letters in the “Lilith” phrase. Allow them to use the title “Lilith,” in whatever sentence is devised, with guest tickets and promoted merchandise going for the most interesting. One of the most attractive advertising art approaches in recent years is being used for “Lilith advertising, and it may be used by the alert showman. @ With a ball of black string, build your own “webs” in front of mirrors, photo display frames, etc., in your theatre. Stills from the picture, plus credits, go behind the “webs,” or are incorporated into it. @ Go after department store cooperation for “Lilith” windows, with stores building “webs” in much the same fashion. Merchandise to be displayed should be, of course, such appealing items as perfumes, nightwear, fashion accessories, etc. @ Hang back-to-back stills in your inner lobby and from your marquee. String dipped in ordinary wallpaper or library paste, can be “dripped” over face of the stills, mirrors and displays. When dry, this forms a firm, attractive and unusual “web.” Soundtrack Album The musical score for “Lilith,” composed and conducted by Kenyon Hopkins, is being made available in a Colpix Records soundtrack album. The ‘Lilith Theme’ also is a Billy Costa single. If your theatre is in a territory where such tournaments are held, then a wide variety of exploitation around the sport is possible; if the sport is relatively unknown in your territory, then it can be introduced. . . . The jousting shown in “Lilith,” in which contestants attempt to spear a number of rings on their lances while riding full tilt, follows the rules used in Maryland, where it is the official state sport; different rules and procedures are employed in other states, but the sport is essentially the same. e@ “Jousting” can be adapted locally, with the Police Athletic League, “Ys, etc., as sponsoring organizations.
