James Darren, who co-stars in ''The Guns of Navarone," has been named this year's chairman of the Bicycle Institute of America's annual salute to bicycling. A special folder has been prepared by the Institute, consisting of interesting information for cyclists, which is being distributed throughout the United State. "The Guns of Navarone" was originally serialized in the "Saturday Evening Post.'’ Let this fact cue your efforts to set up a cooperative promotion with the local representative of the Curtis Circulation Co., circulation arm of the Curtis Publishing Company's publications. Working with the local Curtis representative, try to arrange for point-of-sale material including window streamers, newsstand tack cards, truck posters, etc. Obtain copies of the issues in which "The Guns of Navarone"' was serialized and blow them up for out-front and lobby display. Try these additional attention-getters:
e Guest admit patrons who bring to your theatre the complete serialization of “The Guns of Navarone” in the “Post.” The serial ran from Sept. 22 through Nov. 10, 1956.
