BRIEFS Martin Rackin's production of "Stagecoach," which opens ........ at the ...... Theatre, was shot in a 30,000-acre spread ten to twelve thousand feet up in the Rocky Mountains outside Boulder, Colorado. The site was chosen because of its scenic beauty and because it had never before served as a motion picture setting. Starring against this natural backdrop, in CinemaScope and De Luxe color, are Ann-Margret, Red Buttons, Michael Connors, Alex Cord, Bing Crosby, Bob Cummings, Van Heflin, Slim Pickens, Stefanie Powers and Keenan Wynn. KKK KK KR RK RE The production of "Stagecoach," the Martin Rackin production for 20th Century-Fox, ran into the wettest summer weather ever recorded in that section of Colorado where it was filmed. However, one result was that the wildflowers and verdure were of a beauty beyond belief, as can be seen in the CinemaScope, De Luxe color picture. "I have never seen the flowers so magnificent,'' one local resident commented to producer Rackin, "Yeah," he said, casting a slightly jaundiced eye at the abounding blooms, "and I'm paying for every one of them,'"' He was thinking of the eleven days lost in the shooting at an estimated cost of $300,000. KRKREERE KR KR RE Jerry Goldsmith composed the musical score for "Stagecoach," the CinemaScope, De Luxe color production of Martin Rackin which 20th Century-Fox is releasing. He has recently scored such major productions as 'Von Ryan's Express," '"Morituri," the prologue for "The Agony and the Ecstasy," "Lilies of the Field" and "The Prize." "Stagecoach" has an impressive cast headed by Ann-Margret, Red Buttons, Michael Connors, Alex Cord, Bing Crosby, Bob Cummings, Van Heflin, Slim Pickens, Stefanie Powers and Keenan Wynn.
