When Lee and her girl friends, Marsie and Toby, find the house, they discover three boys already living there! The boys, Adam, Vern and Jim, claim that Lee’s uncle has given them permission to stay. A young co-ed, played by Sherry Jackson, inherits a beach house which she hopes to convert into a girl’s dormitory. This, she hopes, will help alleviate the housing shortage among: students, and also furnish her with the money to get through college. When she arrives at the house, she is shocked to discover that some boys are already living there. Then, due to an administrative mix-up at college, the house is segregated into a boys’ and girls’ section. As the house quickly fills up with students, the inevitable wild parties commence. Singer Frankie Randall, in his first motion picture role, stars as the college boy who moves into Sherry Jackson’s house, and eventually, into her heart. Frankie, one of the hottest young singers on the scene today, began his career as a piano player in New Jersey nite spots. One night, in response to requests from the audience, he started singing, and he’s been singing ever since. He records for RCA Victor and is a frequent performer at Jilly’s, the Frank Sinatra hangout in New York City. Sherry Jackson, although barely out of her teens, already has accumulated an impressively long list of credits. She has appeared in over 30 feature-length motion pictures, co-starred in episodes of 10 TV series, performed on the “Ed Sullivan Show,’’ and ‘‘Perry Como Show,” and appeared for five years as the daughter in “Make Room For Daddy” with Danny Thomas. The Astronauts provide much of the music in “Wild on the Beach.” This vigorous musical quintet has already recorded five albums, toured Japan, played over 100 American universities, and broadcast their own TV show on the West Coast. They are famous for their surfing and hotrodding music. Jackie Miller and Gayle Caldwell, who play Sherry Jackson’s girl friends in the movie, are former members of the New Christy Minstrels, who left that group and formed their own team called Jackie and Gayle. This is their first motion picture appearance. “Wild on the Beach” was produced and directed by Maury Dexter from a screenplay by Harry Spalding. Mat 2A Frankie Randall Stars in Wild on the Beach” Singer Frankie Randall, an RCA recording artist and hot up-and-coming young performer, stars with Sherry Jackson in “Wild on the Beach,” a 20th Century-Fox teen-age musical opening....atthe.... Theatre. “Wild on the Beach” is his first motion picture, and his first album, “Frankie Randall Sings and Swings” is already making its way to the top of record charts across the country. He isa regular entertainer at Jilly’s, the New York bistro frequented by Frank Sinatra and his clan, as well as many of the outstanding performers in show business. “My first two weeks at Jilly’s were somewhat unique,” says Frankie. “To keep the butterflies in action, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Judy Garland, Joe Williams, Billy Daniels, Jack Jones, Sarah Vaughn, and last but not least, Ella Fitzgerald all dropped by. Now I know all these great singers and their presence no longer rattles my nerves, but at the time, I was nearly overcome with stage fright.” Jilly’s, which has been seen in the films “The Manchurian Candidate” and “Johnny Cool,’ afforded Frankie the best exposure a young talent could ask for. “I’ve met so many people in and out of show business there,” says Frankie. “It was at Jilly’s that RCA Victor first heard me, and that led to an exclusive recording contract. Also, producer Robert L. Lippert caught my act there one night, and that led to ‘Wild on the Beach.’ “T’ll never forget the night when Frank Sinatra decided he wanted to relax after the place closed. Jilly made pepper and egg sandwiches while I played the piano and Sinatra sang. We kept it up until 10 o’clock the following morning.” Frankie was originally trained as a classical painist, but soon began playing piano in night clubs. One night a member of the audience requested that he sing, and since his job was at stake, he gave it a try. The audience liked it, he liked it, and he’s been singing ever since. Other singers and musical groups appearing in “Wild on the Beach” are the Astronauts, Jackie and Gayle, Cindy Malone, Sonny and Cher, and Sandy Nelson. Young Sherry Jackson in Wild on the Beach” Pretty Sherry Jackson, barely out of her teens, has a long list of impressive motion picture and TV credits which may well be the envy of much older actresses. She has already appeared in over 30 motion pictures, the most recent of which is “Wild on the Beach,” Twentieth Century-Fox teen-age musical opening ....atthe.... Theatre. She has also appeared on “The Ed Sullivan Show,” “The Perry Como Show,” and co-starred in episodes of 10 TV series such as “Wagon Train,” “Mr. Novak,” “Surfside 6” and “Gunsmoke.” Also, for five years she played the daughter in ““Make Room for Daddy,” with Danny Thomas. In “Wild on the Beach” she stars opposite singer Frankie Randall as a young co-ed who inherits a house near the campus, and soon finds that half the male and female student body moves in with her due to the acute housing shortage. In addition to Frankie Randall, musical performers appearing in “Wild on the Beach” are the Astronauts, Jackie and Gayle, Cindy Malone, Sonny and Cher, and Sandy Nelson.
