TRY ON A VIRACLE
Make available to him a large assortment of photographs from the film so that he can further enhance his Jet Age Wardrobe displays. Be sure to include your own announcement copy. Suggest that he purchase guest tickets and slip one in the inside pocket of every Viracle suit a customer tries on. Advise him to promote this fact—‘‘Just try on a Viracle suit, reach into the inside pocket and pull out a free pass to see ‘A GLOBAL AFFAIR’ at, etc.”
LUCKY DRAWING
Offer the HS&M retailer a Viracle suit display in your lobby, in return for a free suit to be given the winner of a lucky-number drawing. Have slotted box in lobby and have patrons fill in names and addresses which might be turned over to the HS&M retailer for his own mailing list (and yours). LIVE FASHION SHOW
With the HS&M retailer, build a local men’s fashion show at your theatre, in the lobby or on the stage. Invite local news coverage, including radio-TV. Tie this in with a special screening of the film or include this as part of an admission package. If fashion show is not practical in your theatre, suggest that the dealer arrange one in some other suitable spot. Be sure to have plenty of your own promotional material available.
TV FASHION PROGRAM
With your HS&M dealer, contact the producer of a local TV show (women’s, variety, etc.) and suggest a live men’s fashion show. Ask the show’s star (if a male) to wear a Viracle suit himself and allow him to be the “first” in town to own the latest model. Have him talk about Bob Hope’s sartorial splendor, the best dressed lists he has been on and his superb attire in
