Is there an active Boy Scout troop in your community? They can help sell RING OF FIRE for you. Invite local Boy Scout members to put on a fire-building exhibition in front of your theatre stressing safety factors. Demonstration should show ways in which men have built fires through history, using flints, pieces of wood, matches and other fire-making devices. Have them show the correct way to build a fire outdoors so that it will not cause injury or damage. Assemble troop in a ring holding torches for a fitting conclusion.
SCREEN FOR POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS
RING OF FIRE is a story about the efforts of a policeman, played by David Janssen, to bring criminals to justice; it is also a story of the efforts of fire-fighters to save a town from destruction. Canoes, sleeping bags, cooking utensils, guns and countless other sporting goods are suitable for tie-ins. Co-operative advertising and window and counter displays will pre-sell your playdate.
PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST
Excellent outdoor color photography in RING OF FIRE suggests a camera contest. Reach camera fans in your area through local newspaper, inviting entries of color photographs of the outdoors. Tie-in with camera shop, or photographic department of drug or department store to award a camera at your opening for the best entry. Guest tickets to your engagement for runners-up. Exhibit photos in lobby during the run of the picture.
RING CONTEST
The word “‘ring’’ is used to denote many types of objects, which are not necessarily similar, for example: wedding rings, circus rings, boxing rings, piston rings and bathtub rings. For a contest that will get attention invite lists of different types of rings through your newspaper. Award guest tickets to your engagement for the best lists.
JEWELRY STORE PROMOTIONS
The title, RING OF FIRE, presents strong opportunities for jewelry store promotions. Shoppers will notice the ‘‘fire’’ of diamonds, sapphires, rubies, emeralds and other precious stones set in rings at the suggestion of a smart ad line like, ‘For the very best give a RING OF FIRE from Brown's.
