Order Corio “Lure” Stills For Surefire Displays! You can readily give the fans something to stare at... something that will will have them rarin’ to see Ann Corio in “Sarong Girl.” The gorgeous burlesque star is one of the most pohtogenic beauties ever to grace the films. Her art stills will really evoke whistles, so use as many of them as possible in as many places as possible. Above all, be sure to build a sock dispay of them in the lobby. The best bet is a giant board, headed by some of the punch headlines from the ads, and loaded with as many different stills of Ann Corio as you can crowd on it. Another idea is a sort of peep show effect with the photos displayed in a showcase which is entirely masked except for small peep holes above each still. We have a special selection of fifteen Corio poses (uprights), not included in the exchange set, which are the work of the famous glamour photographers, Bruno of Hollywood and John Engstead. The set of fifteen costs $2.70 and should be ordered directly from Pressbook Editor, Monogram Pictures, 4376 Sunset Drive, Hollywood. Stills will be shipped immediately on receipt of order with payment. We suggest sending your order by airmail to assure early delivery. Make Ann The “Most” Girl If a camp of the armed forces is stationed nearby, make every effort to have a bunch of the men name Ann Corio as their favorite pin-up girl. If it’s the air force, they can select her as the girl they most like to fly with. If armored corps, call her the girl they most lke to go riding with in a tank, jeep, truck or what have you. Should there be no army camp in your locality, the same kind of stunt can be pulled with the workers of any defense plant or even with college students. In the case of the former, they might also name one of whatever product they’re turning out after the star. The collegians could vote her the “Sarong Girl they'd most like to be stranded on a desert island with.” Smash Cutout Standee This attractive display is really an eyecatcher. JOHNNY'SCAT' DAVIS AND HIS BAND $m } TIM and IRENE i FMANTAN MORELAIDDAMIAN FLYNN BILL HENRY Sell Corio To Femmes It is important not to overlook appealing to the feminine fans when you're selling an attraction like Ann Corio. Here are a few simple stunts you might use for this purpose. Contact all beauty salons and gift each operator with ducats to see the picture in return for slipping a few plugs for Ann Corio during the usual chatter and gossip they exchange with tehir clients. Have the manicurists mix up a new shade of fingernail polish and call it “Corio Red.” Perhaps the coiffure ex perts can create an “Ann Corio Wave,” a “Corio Cut” or a “Corio Bob.” Drug and cosmetic counters should be given plenty of the love stills from the picture to use in their displays or perfumes, lipsticks, etc. Florists should be asked to name whatever flower happens to be most seasonable after Ann Corio, such as the “Corio Rose.” Teaser cards might be distributed in envelopes imprinted “For Women Only.” Copy on the cards reads, “Learn how to handle men from the girl who has been idolized by millions of aae them—Ann Corio in ‘Sarong Girl’. Leaders of various women’s organizations and clubs should be invited to the first showing so that they can see that the picture is good clean fun. Contests With “Lure” Angle Stage a take-off on the always reliable bathing beauty competition by holding a “Sarong Girl Contest.” Offer prizes of war stamps and bonds for the girl with the most original sarong costume, the prettiest girl, the most talented, the shapliest, etc. For an alternate contest run a search for the girl with “the Ann Corio lips.” Get up a circus throwaway featuring some of the scene mats which show the star’s attractive mouth (be sure to include the one of Bill Henry about to kiss ehr) and offer prizes for the girl whose lip prints are most like Ann Corio’s. Contestants need only imprint their lips on a piece of paper with their name and address on it and submit same at your boxoffice. You'll find that a collection of the various lip prints will make an intriguing lobby display. Even if you don’t use the contest you can make up a display of all sizes and shapes of lip prints with a teaser line: “WHAT TYPE OF LIPS APPEAL TO YOU MOST? Then under a lovely photo of Ann Corio use: “THE GIRL WITH THE MOST ALLURING LIPS IN THE WORLD— ANN CORIO!” | Any other competition for feminine attractiveness . . . loveliest legs, most beautiful shape, etc., will fit in very well with your Ann Corio campaign.
