ACTOR BURLESQUES DIRECTOR AND CAST HOWLS!
Amusing Incident Occurs On “Stunt Pilot’ Set
It is the dream of every movie star that one day he be allowed to “get back” at the man who sometimes bullies him into giving a fine performance—the director of his picture.
Not every actor gets this chance, as Pat O’Malley did in Monogram’s “Stunt Pilot”, which is showing now atthe: === theatre. In “Stunt Pilot’, the second of a series of Tailspin Tommy pictures starring John Trent, O’Malley plays the director of a wartime aviation picture, in which Tailspin Tommy is acting as stunt pilot.
Pat had a fine time embarrassing Director George Waggner by burlesqueing everything he did, and the entire cast and crew enjoyed his performances immensely—so much, in fact, that Waggner finally had to take all of QO’Malley’s scenes on closed sets, as the laughter of the company spoiled too many takes.
However, George and Pat are the best of friends, and still are, in spite of Pat’s “revenge”.
“Stunt Pilot’ is the story of a movie murder, and tells how Tailspin Tommy and his pals solve the mystery.
Outstanding in the cast are Milburn Stone, Marjorie Reynolds, Jason Robards, and Wesley Barry.
“Stunt Pilot”, a Monogram picture, was produced by Paul Malvern from the screenplay by Scott Darling and Joseph West.

Marjorie Reynolds made a liar out of one of her ancestors when she became a movie star. Marjorie, who is currently appearing in Monogram’s “Srint. Pilot. snowedtetoe=.27 57 theatre, was born Marjorie Goodspeed, and the Goodspeed family motto is “No Goodspeed ever distinguished himself but on the other hand no Goodspeed was ever hanged!”
The family motto made Marjorie mad when she was just a little tot, so she determined to become a famous actress to prove it was wrong. Marjorie’s father was a doctor in Idaho, where Marjorie was born. He thought it was swell when his youngest daughter decided to be an actress, and helped her in every way possible.
When Mrs. Goodspeed died, Dr. Goodspeed moved to Los Angeles with Marjorie, and Marge attended the Los Angeles High School, specializing in dramatics. Soon she was playing small roles in the movies, and when she finished high school appeared in several stage plays.
Marjorie’s first important part was in “Wine, Women and Song” in 1933 with Lew Cody and Lilyan Tashman. Then she started playing in western pictures to gain experience and ease before the camera.
