CAPITALIZE ON THIS "ODD" MUSIC
Neil Hefti, who has composed and conducted scores for such motion pictures as “Barefoot in the Park,” “Harlow” and “How to Murder Your Wife,” is probably the best in the business, and his score for THE ODD COUPLE shows his musical genius at its finest. Now available in stereo on the Dot Record label, THE ODD COUPLE should prove to be not only the top motion picture of the year, but also the best-selling album. Featuring Hefti’s background music plus dialogue from the film, the album is enclosed in a specially designed jacket displaying scene stills and pertinent data pertaining to the film. The distributors of Dot (see the attached list of their representatives), are eager to begin promotions on this I.p. as soon as possible. In connection with THE ODD COUPLE album, Dot has prepared special point-of-sale material which includes album mailings to all of the top deejays throughout the country. They have instructed their representatives to cooperate with you fully when you contact them with contest ideas, promotional recordings, etc.
In addition to the Dot soundtrack album, three other major labels will release 45 r.p.m. versions of the theme from THE ODD COUPLE. These are: Al Hirt on RCA Records, Marlene Van Planch on Mounted Records and Neal Hefti on Dot Records. In all instances, these records offer a different, but equally exciting rendition of Neil Hefti’s music. In respect to these three records, distributors have been given instructions to cooprate with you to the fullest extent. Once again— as with the Dot soundtrack album—these three companies sent copies of their records to top deejays across the country, and plans are being made for point-of-sale material in connection with the records and our film.
To capitalize on this fantastic four-fold recording promotion, we suggest that you contact the Dot, RCA, and Mounted distributor in your area immediately (if his name does not appear on the attached lists, consult your telephone directory).
