SELLING SLANTS! "Kind Hearts and Coronets" offers you a great selling angle via the pres¬ ence of Alec Guinness in the cast. Guinness, currently starring in the Broadway hit, "The Cocktail Party," was acclaimed by top-rating drama critic Richard Watts of the New York Post as "possibly the most accom¬ plished actor extant." In "Kind Hearts and Coronets" GUINNESS PLAYS EIGHT DIFFER¬ ENT ROLES! This is probably an ac¬ complishment unequalled in screen his¬ tory. Make sure everyone in town knows about it via these stunts: A special lobby piece can combine art of heads taken from ad above plus scene mat IA of Alec Guinness along with copy read¬ ing: "Who are all these people? All of them are Alec Guinness. See how he does it in 'Kind Hearts and Coronets. 1 " Similar art and copy can be used for a herald or throwaway. A newspaper window display can link Guinness' accomplishment to other famous stunts. Ask newspaper to dig out of its files headlines heralding Lindbergh's flight to Paris, Ederle swimming the Channel, Bobby Jones' Grand Slam in golf, etc. Copy with this display can be: "Think these were great stunts? Wait'll you see Alec Guinness play EIGHT DIFFERENT ROLES in 'Kind Hearts and Coronets.' " Another way to herald Guinness' feat is through an advance 40x60 out front. This can carry sock copy such as: "The Greatest Act¬ ing Feat in Screen History? It's Alec Guin¬ ness playing eight different roles in 'Kind Hearts and Coronets.' " A series of stairmarkers can each feature art of one of the roles Guinness plays along with copy reading: "This is Alec Guinness in 'Kind Hearts and Coronets.’ " An excellent newspaper feature could be made by using drawings from ad above of the roles played by Guinness along with copy ■* ^describing his accomplishment.
