Several Ways to Key Store Co-operations to the title
“Return of the Seven” is a title which should get constant exposure in order to sell this picture — to link it with its fantastically successful predecessor and because it has a lot of inherent tease in it! :
Elsewhere on these pages are suggestions for exposing the title. But your best bet is to link it with some kind of a citywide occasion, such as a special merchandising co-operation. Listed below are a number of ways in which you can do this.
“COLLECT THE LUCKY SEVEN:”’ Co-operating merchants
can have the seven heads of the seven which appear on Art Still-RS 1 printed separately and distributed among their stores. A person who accumulates a complete set of seven wins a seven percent discount at any of the stores (there might be seven) and tickets to see “Return of the Seven.”
“FIND THE LUCKY SEVEN:”’ The art element with the
seven heads on the Figure 7 in the ads may be printed up as a herald and numbered. A certain number of these have a lucky seven in them. Finders get discount and tickets.
WESTERN MEN’S GARB: Western style leisure clothing is
always popular. A distributor can get up seven of these items for a window and an ad captioned “The Return of the Seven—year after 1??
year after year! Western favorites which know no style trends! No reason why women’s gear can’t be included.
“LUCKY SEVEN’”’ HUNT: Offer a reward for the Return of the Seven — a list of the stores in town in which figures (from Art Still-RS 2) or heads (Art Still-RS 1) of the seven are found. Merchants like this sort of thing because it makes people study their windows, and if the traffic will bear it can be run along “scavenger hunt” lines.
“RETURN THE SEVEN:”’ A fast one-shot for an enterprising
radio, used-car or white goods dealer: “Return the Seven—the 1957 that is—and get a liberal allowance on a ’67!”
LUCKY SEVEN DAY: “Everybody’s Lucky on Lucky Seven Day” reads a newspaper ad. “On opening day of ‘Return of the Seven’ only—seven percent discount on everything, seven stamps instead of one, a special of seven dollar values, seven in a halfdozen,” etc., etc.

Yul Brynner Contest
Yul Brynner has been a western character in three pictures — this one, “The Magnificent Seven” and “Invitation To A Gunfighter.”’ But he’s been at least seven other things — a Biblical king (““The Ten Commandments”); an Indian emperor (“Kings of The Sun”); a Siamese despot (“The King and I”); a Tartar chieftain (“Taras Bulba”); mastermind of a dope smuggling ring (“Port of New York’’).
Makes a good question for a quizz show or a newspaper box, with guest tickets to those who send in the first correct list of answers.
