It will be easy for you to take advantage of this promotional windfall because United Artists Records has issued the catchy, tuneful score on an album that has already hit the music shops and record outlets. Contact those stores in your area and arrange for displays. Contribute your part of the promotion by playing record on public address system and aiming for on-the-air plays with the disc jockeys.

A promotionally-minded store or shopping center should be quick to see the publicity value of offering ‘““Yours, Mine and Ours” commodities as a salute to the picture. This can be an extension of the usual “His” and “Hers” merchandising promotions. For example, the “Yours” items can be those of most interest to the husband — electric razor, garden tractor, fishing gear, etc., — while the “Mine” can be items for the woman. The big kick however, comes with the “Ours” — stuff for the entire family, such as a TV set, new kitchen equipment, a new car, lawn swimming pool—the list is limitless!
A store handling one of those metal tape labelers may be approached for a window displaying the various devices with a card reading “Never be in a quandary as to what is YOURS, MINE or OURS! Label it with the Dyne-ee-Mo.” Tie in with stills and other

This can be worked by lining up as many families as you can who have say, more than eight kids, mixing the kids thoroughly in your lobby or on the grounds of a co-operating shopping center, and then awarding a prize to the parents who pick out their own the fastest! Should be good for laughs and pictures—and copy!
Pitch, of course, is based on the question, “With a family of 19, How Did the Beardsleys Know Which Was YOURS, MINE or OURS?” Doesn’t necessarily have to be worked with second marriage situations. But it would be a great help and add to the news value of the stunt if you can round up enough kids from such situations for the stunt.
