When producer Ross Hunter, who previously had arranged for her screen debut in “Pillow Talk” with Rock Hudson and Doris Day, cast her for the new role she had to squeeze in the assignment between her weekly video appearances. This meant that each Friday night, for four weeks, she had to hastily pack her bags for a flight from Hollywood to Gotham, and just as hastily re-pack them for her return trip late each Sunday night. It all worked out so smoothly that not once was the captivating redhead tardy either'on the studio sound stages or for the video program. In “Tammy Tell Me True,” the actress plays the pivotal role of the somewhat snooty niece of Beulah Bondi, seen as a wealthy woman of eccentric behavior. She says she likes the role so much she would have traveled twice as far, had it been necessary, to accept the assignment. Julia has carved out an enviable reputation for herself in television where she has become one of the highest paid commercial announcers in the industry. If she never works another day in her life, it has been said, she’ll never have to be concerned about her finances.
