This is the first lesson the judges of the ‘‘42nd Street Daily News Doubles Contest’’ have learned since the first announcement of the unique contest on Monday. Since that time the office of the Contest Editor has been deluged with pictures of this city’s most beautiful girls whose friends tell them they are dead ringers for Bebe Daniels, Ginger Rogers and Ruby Keeler; and young men who have reason to believe that their features are modelled along the lines of those of George Brent; Warner Baxter and Dick Powell.
